Growing up in rural Maine, I was surrounded by animals of all kinds. In fact, some of them were my best and closest friends. Unsurprisingly, I wanted to be a veterinarian and work at the zoo or be an assistant to Jane Goodall.
As a child (and adult) I love E.B. White – especially The Trumpet of The Swan. One of my most favorite classic novels is To Kill a Mockingbird. Harper Lee’s portrayal of persecution and bigotry, as well as personal biases and stereotypes, is timeless and a bittersweet reminder of how far our world has come, but still a long way to go.
I would be a warm yellow-pink color called “Joy” – then I could actually choose “Joy” to color with J Yes, it’s a cheesy answer, but also kinda true – wouldn’t it be lovely to draw a world with Joy, like Harold and the Purple Crayon.
I do love British films with quirky characters. One of my favorites is Truly, Madly, Deeply– an incredibly sweet, funny love story between a ghost and his former girlfriend. Alan Rickman is quite charming as the ghost who seeks to help his love move forward without him. Yes, THE Alan Rickman of Prof. Snape and Die Hard renown.
Definitely Ice Cream…. After all it is what I, you, and everyone screams for! It is my personal goal to sample all 31 flavors at BR.
